History/Background:

Leap Iben Tread Iben Annenek Iben Arrok Iben Menadus Iben Chathek Iben The-Sun-that-Freezes, other wise known as The Proud Thief, has always been just a little out of step with his situation. Trained to be a rogue and a thief, he more often than not chooses combat over subtlety. Fortunately he is also victorious more often than not, which is not to say he does not have his share of scars.

His parents were embarrassed to find that his deep red skin was pared with flame breath, believing that one's scales should not advertise one's abilities quite so clearly. Only his sister does not look on him with some sense of distain. When wealthy, he is often inclined to spend in a miserly fashion and when poor, he is known to buy a round for the house.

Thirteen years ago, Leap was caught by a band of dwarves while he attempted to liberate a very fine dagger from their inventory. The bound him in chains with the intent of using his fire to supplement the heat of their forge (harming his honor by not killing him). He slipped his chains by shedding a thumb on each hand; painful and humiliating. While making his escape, he gave the dwarves a fair taste of just what his fire could do. His distrust of dwarves runs deep.

Despite the taboos, his humor usually revolves around the devouring of other sentient species, usually dwarves.

He has won and lost fortunes, seeing gold in hand as proof of his prowess and his willingness to risk it all as proof of his courage. Currently, he is between periods of wealth and has been drawn down into the earth where the promise of a new chance to prove is "prowess" awaits …
